Dr Masełek (Stefan Institute, Ljubljana) visited our group and gave a talk on recent advances in machine learning, which have enabled new model-independent approaches to searching for physics beyond the Standard Model at the Large Hadron Collider. This method can be applied beyond HEP (pdf).
The first annual meeting of the multilateral project titled “Bridging Theory and Experiments: Pushing the Boundaries of Neutrino Oscillation Precision Physics” took place in Zagreb (link). Our group represented Biswajit Karmakar (talk Generalized parametrization of PMNS matrix based on SO(3) symmetry, pdf) Janusz Gluza (talk Neutrino oscillations in the context of discrete flavor models, pdf), Marek Michalczyk (talk Texture zero in neutrino mass matrices, pdf), Szymon Zięba (online talk Correlations in oscillation parameters, pdf) and Timo Kärkkäinen (online talk Non-standard interactions, pdf).
MITP Mainz organized a small workshop (participation by invitation – Janusz Gluza) on Electroweak Corrections at Current and Future Accelerators.
In Helsinki, the FCC Week took place. Janusz Gluza presented a talk for the FCC-ee Working Group “Precision Calculation for FCC-ee: Status Plans” (link, pdf).

From June 27 through July 1 Biswajit Karmakar (talk “A flavor model for cobimaximal mixing” https://indico.cern.ch/event/1099312/contributions/4821198/) and Bartosz Dziewit took part in 9th Workshop on Flavour Symmetries and Consequences in Accelerators and Cosmology – FLASY 2022. This conference was held in Lisbon and focused on the researchers in the field of flavour symmetries, neutrino physics, Higgs physics, CP violation, accelerator physics and cosmology/astroparticle physics to present new results, stimulate discussion and new collaborations.
On October 21-23, 2022, the Symposium of the Fundamental Interactions Physics Section (SFOF) of the Polish Physical Society was held in Katowice. The symposium was organized in a hybrid form; 79 physicists participated in the event (6 online). During the symposium, in addition to the talks, a poster session was held, and the three best posters were selected. A group of participants spent Friday evening in the “Hipnoza” club, while on Saturday evening we got to know the Silesian Planetarium, which was renewed this year, Chorzów Park.
